3 PREMIUM RACING PREVIEWS & BETTING TIPS FOR SATURDAY
🇮🇪 CURRAGH 15:25 – JAKAJARO (4/1)
A fascinating sprint contest where several of the market principles look like they might ultimately cry out for an extra furlong. Among those who could find this test a bit sharp is the current market leader, HAVANNA ANNA. While the three-year-old filly has been ultra-consistent, winning three of her nine career starts, her official rating has subtly slipped from 113 to 110 over her last two outings. On the evidence at hand, there is a distinct possibility she has already peaked.
Of the others, COVER UP caught the eye as a potential each-way squeak, but it is difficult to envision this battle-hardened gelding actually finding the front when the whips are cracking. ROSEY AFFAIR commands respect receiving the handy three-pound sex allowance, and she is fully entitled to go well in a race of this nature.
However, for the outright winner, the clear value lies in chancing JAKAJARO. Since the new turf season kicked off, this Robert Cowell-trained son of Too Darn Hot has been in fine fettle, scoring in two of his four starts. Crucially, he looks like the most natural, out-and-out five-furlong speedster in this line-up. His recent one-and-a-half-length fifth at Royal Ascot was a bona fide career-best effort. If he replicates that level of performance here, he should simply prove too quick for them.
The Verdict: Jakajaro represents excellent value at 4/1 to out-speed this field over a sharp five.

🇮🇪 CURRAGH 16:35 – EARTH SHOT (11/4)
The morning market was turned on its head following strong stable rumors that something wasn’t quite right with the heavy favorite, THUNDERING ON. It came as no surprise to see the Joseph Patrick O’Brien filly officially declared a non-runner, blowing this contest wide open.
Ballydoyle supremo Aidan O’Brien saddles half of the ten-runner field, yet COMPOSING, BEAUTIFY, SUGAR ISLAND, and CAMEO all look like rank outsiders on paper. It is telling that stable jockey Ryan Moore has opted to book the ride on AMELIA EARHART, but she arrives with plenty of questions to answer herself.
Jim Bolger’s unbeaten SPARAN NUA enters calculations under Declan McDonagh, but it is hard to see the daughter of Dawn Approach maintaining her unblemished record. The Group 3 she collected at Cork was a weak renewal, and the fact she went off at 25/1 on her debut suggests she wasn’t highly touted to reach this level so quickly. INIS MOR is tracking the right way and boasts far sturdier credentials than the aforementioned, but a minor place looks like her ceiling.
JOHANNA WALSH was originally configured as the stable’s second-string, but she is a massive improver and there was never any logical reason to rate her chances lower than her withdrawn stablemate. However, the search stops firmly at EARTH SHOT.
This strong-staying daughter of Time Test only snatched victory by a head against Johanna Walsh last time out, but the bare result doesn’t do the performance justice. Ridden by James Doyle, she was forced to tank wide into the straight, forfeiting serious real estate. Despite getting tapped for toe at the two-furlong pole, her turbo kicked in late, and she stayed on powerfully to hit the line. With bundles of untapped potential and a smoother run expected today, the 11/4 on offer is incredibly fair.
The Verdict: Earth Shot is a filly firmly on the upgrade. She will relish the trip and looks the class act of the race.
🇬🇧 NEWMARKET 15:05 – REVOIR (5/2)
We head across the Irish Sea to HQ for our final selection. TRIBAL QUEEN turned heads with a wide-margin victory on her second career start, but this demands a substantial step up in class, and she will need to find significant improvement to trouble the judge at this level. Charlie Appleby also sends out FASHIONS FANCY, but on all known form, she rates a notch below her stable companion.
Further down the card, NAGA appears strictly limited in terms of ability, while LITTLE DORRIT looks thoroughly exposed compared to some of these unexposed types. ORIONIS finished a full five lengths adrift of our selection in a similar event at Pontefract, and it is incredibly difficult to construct an argument for her reversing that form line today.
If we cut straight to the chase, it is near-impossible to look beyond the Ralph Beckett-trained four-year-old, REVOIR. With Hector Crouch booked for the steer, this filly was only just touched off in that hot Pontefract contest, and today’s conditions tick absolutely every box. She is at her absolute lethal best on a stiff track, the ground is entirely immaterial to her, and her current form standard towers over the opposition.
The Verdict: Revoir is the day’s banker. Everything is aligned for a massive performance on the July Course.
