6 Football Bets YOU NEED This Weekend!
LEEDS vs BRENTFORD
ENGLAND: PREMIER LEAGUE
We highlighted at the start of the campaign that we expected immediate structural improvements from Brentford, and that projection materialized emphatically when they dismantled Tottenham 4-0 in their opener. The Bees generated a ruthless 2.85 xG output, proving their high-pressing transition system is firing on all cylinders.
Leeds managed a narrow late win over Nottingham Forest, but their underlying defensive metrics revealed persistent vulnerabilities when facing direct counter-attacks. With Brentford controlling central field territory and showing sharp clinical finishing, Elland Road holds zero fear for the visitors.
Taking Brentford on the zero-handicap line gives us complete stake protection on the draw while backing the far more cohesive unit.
- BET: BRENTFORD +/-0 (Draw No Bet)
- ODDS: 2.05

COVENTRY vs HULL CITY
Coventry were runaway winners of last seasons Championship. Frank Lampard’s men took 95 points on the way to winning the league title. Since being promoted, the owners of the Sky Blues invested a further €138 million on player transactions, which should make them more competitive. As expected, Coventry lost their season opener to reigning premier league champions Arsenal, but some then they won a EFL cup game against Plymouth.
Hull City were also promoted from the Championship, but after finishing 6th they needed to go through the qualifications. The Tigers finished on 73 points last season, 22 behind Coventry. However, they did draw both matches against this opponent, and in their first match they shocked Manchester United. In that match, Hull’s new GK Tzolakis was excellent, making it look like the 20 million was well spent.
The hosts will fancy their chances, but playing against a team with a solid defense won’t be easy. The logical bet here is under 2.5 goals!
BET: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
ODDS: 2.06

TOTTENHAM vs NEWCASTLE
Tottenham started the new campaign with a 3-0 loss in Brentford, and if anything that result could have been worse. Roberto De Zerbi’s men will need to improve on that if they are going to reach this seasons aspirations. On a positive note, the Spurs have bought in some quality players in Sandro Tonali, Matteus Fernandes and Savinho, and playing this match at home should be a big incentive!
Newcastle started their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Liverpool. In that they conceded a penalty with the last kick of the game was unfortunate for the Magpies, but to be fair their opponents had a much higher xG and deserved at least a point.
The Magpies new goalkeeper Lukas Honicek was excellent in that last match, so the visitors will be hoping he proves has reliable again. However, Newcastle are not the best of travelers, and we believe they have failed to bring in the right players.
Taking Tottenham at decent odds of 2.32.
BET: TOTTENHAM
ODDS: 2.32

FREIBURG vs WERDER BREMEN
Freiburg sold Manzambi for €60 million, and for now they seem to have pocketed than money. Nevertheless, watching them beat Dusseldorf in last weeks cup (1-5) suggested Julien Schuster’s men are ready for the challenge ahead, and so does qualifying for the Conference league. Playing at home is what the Schwarzwalder’s do best, and when playing this opponent last season they won the match in this stadium 1-0 and the reverse game 0-3.
Despite only finishing 15th of the 18 clubs last season, the Werder Bremen owners have failed to bolster their squad. Despite having 34 players on the roster, banking €33 million from transactions is very disappointing. As a consequence, it’s hard to envisage improvement, and we know they are not the best of travelers and this is a long journey south!
Taking the hosts!
BET: FREIBURG
ODDS: 2.08

NORWICH vs BURNLEY
ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
Norwich could only finish 9th last season, and they were only 20th best at home. Traditionally speaking, the Canaries are best when they play at Carrow road, so maybe their fortune will turn around. Norwich started the campaign with two league defeats, but since then they won a EFL game. On a positive note, Phillipe Clement is an excellent manager, and the owners have invested in strengthening their squad.
Burnley were relegated at the end of the last season, so they will be hoping for an immediate bounce back. New coach Nick Hayen sent his men out to draw the season opener against another relegated team in West Ham, but since then they lost 3-1 in West Brom.
Both of these teams are capable of doing better, but who’s going to win today? It doesn’t matter to us because we are taking over 2.5 goals, with our reasoning being both score and concede easily, and this bet is massively overpriced!
BET: OVER 2.5 goals
ODDS: 1.86

SEVILLA vs ATLETICO MADRID
SPAIN LA LIGA
Sevilla played two and won two, a better start to the season is impossible. However, they were a tad fortunate against first round opponent Rayo Vallecano (2-1), and they were helped by the referee in last weeks 1-3 away win against Athletic. In that match, the Basque team were given an early red card (11th minute), and from then on in life was made easier for the visitors. With that said, despite the man advantage, Sevilla were 2nd best on the xG (expected goals), and we believe that they have been very lucky upto this point!
If we are analytical, the hosts who finished just 13th last season haven’t done anything positive to strengthen their squad, thus we can see them facing a comeuppance sooner rather than later.
As for Atletico, they finished the last campaign in 4th but were just 7th best on the road. Simeone’s men started the season with a 2-0 win over newly promoted Malaga, and since then they drew a home match 2-2 with Villareal. In that game, Le Normand was sent off for a stupid tackle, so he will be missing for today’s game.
One thing is certain, Atletico have by far the superior squad. While they lost this fixture last season, at the time Atletico were playing in the Champions League. To cut a long story short, no such excuses today and we expect them to win!
BET: ATLETICO
ODDS: 2.18
