The season has certainly started well, and we expect to cane the bookies hard again tonight. With regards to tennis betting on the site, we will add the odd bet depending on what else we have that day. Angelique Kerber brushed aside Daria Kasatkina when they met in the quarter finals of the Canadian masters in August 2016. However, the 19 year old Russian was well below her best on that occasion, and she’s expected to put up more of a fight today.

Kerber had a fantastic 2016, and ended the season has world number one. One factor that helped the German take over top spot from was the number of matches she played. Afterall, the 28 year old had 85, comparing to Serena Williams who played just 44. And, while Angie won 66 compared to Serena’s 38, her win percentage was much lower at 77.6% compared with 86.4%.

We are of the opinion that Kerber is top on points only, because their are certainly better players on the tour. One thing we would give the German girl is she’s number one for tenacity, because her character is to fight until the death. However, with that said, she struggled past Ashleigh Barty at last weeks Brisbane and she was beaten by Kasatkina in the next round.

In some ways Kerber’s conqueror last week is similar to todays opponent Daria Kasatkina, in that she’s particularly strong in defending. In theory, this could be a game that won’t suit Kerber has she’s more of a street fighter who prefers opponents to come at her.

The young Russian showed herself to be in particular good form when beating Timea Babos in the first round. And, she only lost to Garbine Muguruza in a very tight three setter at last weeks Brisbane.

We believe Kasatkina has a lot more to give, and she’s being overpriced here.

You can also try the outright at 3.25, but for the sake of our bet we are taking +4
