DARIA KASATKINA vs JOHANNA KONTA - WTA SYDNEY

Wham bam thank you mam, that’s what we are doing to the bookies with our tennis bets. Yesterday we followed up with another tidy bet on Jana Fett and Daria Kasatkina. Today we sent out three bets to premium subscribers, so they will be hoping to build on the early profits. The only bet we are putting on the site today is this one, because we too need to take it easy. If you want to subscribe to our services, get in touch info@betting-analyst.com

DARIA KASATKINA vs JOHANNA KONTA - WTA SYDNEY

We mentioned in yesterdays preview that Daria Kasatkina would be suited by playing Angelique Kerber, and so it proved. The 19 year old kept her nerve to get the better of the world number one in a first set tie breaker (7-5), and she backed it up with an easy 6-2 in the second set.

The fazit of the match for us was the Russian’s confidence in the tie break, and her focus on seeing it through. In fact, making 73% first serves was a good basis to build upon, especially since 69% ended in winning points. And, while it would be easy to point a finger at Kerber’s six double faults, that was because Kasatkina put extra pressure on the Germans serve. In short, despite our belief that Kerber isn’t a natural number one, it was still an excellent and confidence building performance.

Subscribers will know we bet Katerina Siniakova to beat Jo Konta last week, because we believed the Brit was being over rated. A look at todays betting would suggest the same scenario, since Kasatkina has a lot more to give.

What we can say about Konta is she’s a great example of hard work paying off. Afterall, the 25 year old didn’t break into the top one hundred until 2015, and closing last season at number ten was a fantastic achievement. Nevertheless, Konta was out battled by Svitolina in Zhuhai, and that player in not dissimilar to todays opponent Kasatkina.

We don’t really want to say Jo Konta will suit the Russians game, but she’s certainly beatable. With all due respect, Jo is the world number ten because the lack of depth in women’s tennis. We have absolutely no doubt Kasatkina is the bigger talent, and she should climb the ranks this year. In any case, forts so far this term suggest Daria is capable of beating the Brit!
