BETTING PREVIEW - DEN HAAG vs UTRECHT - DUTCH EREDIVISIE

Image title

Our second free bet is from the opening round of the Dutch league. For the record tomorrow is going to be a massive betting day, and we can’t wait to get stuck in. And, last but not least the countdown to our new website is four weeks, and that will turn us into one of the biggest Sports prediction sites on the net!!

Ever tried getting a drink out of a Dutch person, it’s almost an impossible task. It’s  a characteristic of the folk that they are ‘’tight’’ with money, and that also applies to their football clubs. Even top teams who play Champions/Europa league usually have a positive balance with transfers (in+out), so you won’t be surprised when we tell you Utrecht made +€9.9 million on sales during the summer. Whether that’s a good move now that they have a possibility of playing Europa league remains to be seen, albeit they have Zenit Petersburg in their way before the group stages of that competition.

The visitors started their campaign by knocking Polish side Lech Poznan out of the Europa league. However, this was only achieved by the away goals rule, and playing Zenit in the next round will be much tougher. That match will take place next thursday, so coach Erik Ten Haag will be hoping his team can raise their game before that. With that said, he will also be hoping to get through tonights game without further injuries, because off of Rico Streider, Patrick Joosten, Chris David and Simon Makienok are already sidelined.

Den Haag appeared to be heading for the drop at one stage of last season, but five wins and a draw from their last seven matches took them to safety and a near to mid table eleventh. Alfons Groenendijk’s side warmed up for the season with eleven friendly games, and they won all of them. And, while they were not necessarily against the best opposition, they did at least score 48 goals. We should also recognise that the hosts were undefeated during their last six home matches of the last campaign, and four of them were wins.

The hosts have reduced squad size to just 22, but with only Nick Kuipers out that shouldn’t be a problem. Quality of the 8 players coming in are of a similar level to the ones leaving, albeit Lex Immers from Club Brugge is a good catch.

PREDICTION

Team news is one thing. Knowing that the visitors are playing Zenit in midweek is another, because it could make them vulnerable. Den Haag ended the last campaign strongly, and they even drew in Utrecht. We don’t believe the visitors should be this short in the betting!
