Catterick: Mark Your Card Service. It’s only low grade stuff today, but that doesn’t stop us from betting. While these three are lower odds than we tend to bet, we can only work with the what’s on the menu. In the meantime, i just want to mention:

14:32 – GOLD KEY (13/8)
MUHANDES wasn’t beaten far on his debut, but the form wouldn’t be worth much more than a rating of 72. To cut a long story short, the George Boughey-trained gelding needs to improve plenty!
On a line through NATIONAL HONOUR, GOLD KEY should have the measure of RUPERT THE BRAVE. Considering the Oliver Cole-trained colt’s runs to date, he looks more consistent than progressive!
As for GOLD KEY, the son of PALACE PIER was well beaten on his debut. However, he was only beaten a neck by NATIONAL HONOUR off level weights next time, whereas RUPERT THE BRAVE was 1.75 lengths behind that same horse while receiving 7 pounds. With further improvement likely, it’s got to be the Kevin Ryan-trained colt!

15:07 – SUGARPIEHINEYBUNCH (7/2)
This is a low-grade handicap, but someone has to win it! STAR OF JUPITER will get maximum assistance from Luke Morris, but just 1 win from 23 races suggests his desire to lose will be stronger than his jockey’s will to win!
FAIRYDALE comes from a stable in excellent form, but she shouldn’t be such short odds. While the extra distance is an unknown factor, the front-running filly isn’t the strongest of finishers.
LADY PHOEBE is a strong stayer, and she has won 2 of her 15 races. However, she might prefer a sterner test of stamina than this, and her last win came off a 5-pound lower mark!
It’s got to be worth backing SUGARPIEHINEYBUNCH to follow up her 13-length victory over this course and distance. A 5-pound penalty for winning that 5-runner race by 13 lengths is more than fair, and she will again benefit from the services of a handy 5-pound claimer!

15:42 – MASABAN (5/2)
On paper, the dropped-in-grade favourite GOLDEN STRIKE is the one to beat. However, Catterick is a very different test to the tracks he’s been running at recently, and he did go up another pound in the weights for winning last time out.
In my opinion, the 4-year-old is worth taking on with MASABAN, a three-year-old who is best suited by racing on a tight, left-handed circuit. The son of SIYOUNI could easily get a soft lead out in front, he’s still on a fair mark, and Daniel Tudhope is exactly the right jockey for the job!
