BEVERLEY 4:37 TALLARD ROYALE 7/2

For those who don’t know, Beverley is one of the stiffest tracks in the country. In fact, the tight bends and the course contours (uphill finish & ground runs away to the left) make it a specialist course.

AUTUMN FESTIVAL has already raced 12 times this season, and he’s handling his busy schedule well! The POET’S VOICE son racked up three successive wins, and he’s reached a career-high mark of 84. However, while the David O’Meara-trained gelding is doing plenty right, a 5-pound penalty is a stopper!

QIPAO won 3 of her 9 races, and the last of them was a 4 runner affair over this course & distance. As a two-year-old, the MUHAARAR filly was tried in Group and Listed class, albeit she didn’t make the grade. In short, racing from a mark of 79 is more realistic, although I expect a few of these will be too good!

As for MAKEEN, he never got going in his last race at Thirsk. Nevertheless, he’s proven on a stiff track, and he’s got the potential to be placed. Meanwhile, OUTSMART races as he needs further, whereas today’s race is over a furlong shorter. In my opinion, he doesn’t have the speed to win over 7.5F.

MY LITTLE TIP and CROWN PRINCESS are struggling and it’s hard to believe that they will be taking a hand in the finish. For the winner, I am only interested in TALLARD ROYALE.

George Boughey’s gelding is lightly raced and down in grade. He’s won at this track and is only one pound higher today. The son of RIBCHESTER wasn’t beaten far at Chester, and if anything that runs should be ranked higher. The good ground won’t be an issue, and Ray Dawson is a good booking for an in-form stable!
