BIG DAYS RACING: WELL HANDICAPPED CHASER
DONCASTER 12:50 STORMINHOME 9/4
CERENDIPITY needs to bounce back from a poor run. Sue Smith’s gelding didn’t jump with any fluency at Haydock, and the heavy ground couldn’t be blamed! Furthermore, the prodigy of Sageburg would prefer easier ground than he will encounter today!
The issue I have with SNOWY EVENING is the drop back in distance. After all, the 7 year old won at this track over 3M2F, and on good ground the emphasis is going to be on speed!
FANCY STUFF and OKAVANGO DELTA have clear limitations! While they are both at the right end of the weight scale, it’s hard to imagine either winning!
MACLAINE won one of his nine races, and he’s shown promise in two chase races for trainer Richard J Bandy. Since the 7 year old is rated 2 pounds lower over fences, his position in the betting market is acceptable!
However, for the winner I won’t be looking beyond STORMINHOME. As with the aforementioned, this fella is two pounds lower in this sphere. Moreover, Ben Pauling’s 7 year old is being dropped from Grade 3 into Grade 4, and he’s going to be better suited by this shorter distance.
The anticipated good ground is another positive for Ben Jones mount, and he ran his three best races at this track. While the selection is set to carry joint topweight, only 2 pounds separate the top four in the betting.
First time cheekpieces should help the son of FRAMMASSONE focus better, and he’s certainly got more to give over fences. To cut a long story short, he’s a standout betting opportunity!
