CERCLEE BRUGGE vs ANDERLECHT – BETTING TIP
Since being promoted back into the top league for the 2018/19 season, Cerclee Brugge is 2-1-5 against Anderlecht. Of the matches played in this stadium, the visitors are 2-1-1.
After changing managers on November 28, Cerclee owner Dmitry Rybolovlev must have been happy with Dominik Thalhammer’s input. At the time of taking charge, the Green/Black occupied a place in the relegation zone. For the record, Cerclee ended that campaign 10th in the table, albeit only 22 of their 25 points were taken at home!
For the new season, Cerclee bought in ten new players. Four of those came from the owner other club Monaco, while two were from the B-team. As for the biggest money signing, that was €1.5M to Kashima Antlers for striker Ayase Ueda. The 23-year-old started in last week’s 2-0 defeat in Westerlo, but he didn’t get the chance to shine!
In the season opener, Boris Pavlovic didn’t last long. The centre-back was given a 2nd yellow card after just 31 minutes, and that sending-off means he’s suspended for today. To rub salt into the wound, the clubs other centre back Sousa is injured. Furthermore, Thalhammer is expecting to be without striker Emilio Kehrer, and a couple of other players are struggling with knocks.
Meanwhile, in the hope of getting more out of the Anderlecht players, Felice Mazzu was appointed the new boss. The 56-year-old got his last club Royale Union promoted before finishing 2nd in last season’s Jupiler.
Anderlecht has managed to bring in a number of interesting players, with Fabio Silva standing out. The talented 20-year-old is being loaned from Wolves, and he got on the scoresheet in the season opener. Esposito and Abdulrazak are two other newbies who should do well.
If the Purple/White is going to be challengers for the title, they will need to win games like this. In short, we liked what we saw in the 2-0 win against Oostende, and we expect an away win today.
