CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL: BETTING PREVIEW & PICK

REAL MADRID vs DORTMUND

The last four Champions League finals have ended 1-0, and the one before that ended 2-0. While earlier finals often featured three goals or more, recent trends indicate fewer goals. Dortmund won both legs of their semi-finals against PSG by 1-0.

During the group stage, Borussia played six matches with a total of 11 goals, averaging 1.83 goals per game. In contrast, Dortmund’s matches in the German Bundesliga see plenty of goals (111 in 34 matches, averaging 3.26 per game). However, Edin Terzic’s team tends to adopt a more cautious approach against stronger teams.

With the exception of last-round opponent PSG, Borussia had a relatively easy path to the final. The question remains: do wins over Newcastle, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, and PSV truly signify much?

On a positive note, BVB has managed to keep the core of their team fit. Moreover, the players who triumphed over PSG are all available, potentially leaving Marco Reus on the sidelines upon his return.

SPANISH CHAMPIONS READY FOR 15?

As for Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti’s men clinched the Spanish League title by a comfortable ten-point margin. The most successful team in Champions League history (14 titles) is unbeaten in their last 26 competitive matches, with just one defeat in their last 48 games.

The Whites reached the final by overcoming Bayern Munich, a team that finished ahead of Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Notably, Dortmund recently defeated Bayern 2-0, indicating their strong focus on this competition.

It’s worth mentioning that Real Madrid had a bit of luck advancing past both Bayern and Manchester City. Against Bayern, late goals from reserve Joselu in the 88th and 91st minutes secured their passage.

Ancelotti might be without Aurelien Tchouameni, which would mean Eduardo Camavinga taking his place in midfield. In his press interview, the Real coach revealed that a fit again Thibaut Courtois would be the goalkeeper.

In summary, we expect Dortmund to maintain a tight defence. If Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior can be contained again, goals will be hard to come by. The logical bet is to take under 2.5 goals at bigger odds.

BET: UNDER 2.5 goals

Odds: 2.31
