CHEPSTOW TOP RACING TIP
13:22 ICE COAST 11/2
It takes a decent one to win two bumper races, and LIBBERTY HUNTER managed that for his former trainer Brian Eckley. Subsequently, the son of YORGUNNABELUCKY was sold to current connections and switched to trainer Evan Williams.
The 6-year-olds first start for his new stable was in February when he finished 6th of 12 in a Newbury listed. The early favorite is a rangy type and he should have a future. However, I avoid this stable, and I would recommend that anyone reading this do the same.
After all, following the Vale of Glamorgan trainer is a quick way to the poor house. For the record, betting Williams runners with a one-point level stake would have returned -486.07 over the past 5 years. From a total of 1916 runners, that is minus 25.4%! Lastly, this front-runner is likely to need the experience and his first run in over nine months.
Meanwhile, Paul Nicholls has his string in good (10/28) form, and in this one, he’s running the second favorite HALF DOZEN. For the most part, the five-year-old was disappointing on his debut, and for now, he’s got something to prove.
The one I like is French import ICE COAST, and my reasons for that are numerous. Firstly, Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero have acquired a 4-year-old with plenty of scopes. In fact, I would suggest he’s the type to do even better when he goes chasing.
When last seen he wasn’t beaten far into 2nd at Fontainebleau, and his other effort was against decent types. Since he was a bit green, the son of COASTAL PATH can only improve. While this is a race full of unexposed types, he’s one a like a lot!
