While some teams grow into tournaments, that hasn’t been the case with Belgium. The Golden generation has been disappointing, and it’s hard to imagine them beating Croatia.

Belgium won (1-0) their opening game against Canada, but it was a laboured effort! In fact, after just 11 minutes Thibaut Courtois saved a penalty from Alphonso Davies. The goalkeeper was again called into action when he parried from Johnson, and their opponents had numerous other chances. Nevertheless, despite having just 46% possession, Michy Batshuayi scored the winner.

Subsequently, the Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by Morocco. In that match, the likes of Eden Hazard, Batshuayi, and Kevin De Bruyne failed to convert chances. To make a long story short, coach Martinez made changes on 60 minutes but it didn’t change anything.

From what we have been watching, the body language of the Belgium players is poor! When De Bruyne starts showing signs of frustration, this team has a problem!

In their opening match, Croatia played out a 0-0 draw with Morocco. As the two teams neutralized each other, the result was a fair reflection of what we had witnessed.

However, in the next round, the Blazers improved to beat Canada 4-1. After falling a goal behind, the team coached by Zlatko Dalic had a positive response.

We were particularly impressed with striker Andrej Kramaric who was rewarded with two goals. However, the best part about the Croatia performance was the supply line, with Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic, and Marcelo Brozovic all doing a fantastic job.

In conclusion, the big battle is going to be in the midfield! While Belgium is almost certain to start with Lukaku, the Inter Milan player is short of match fitness. At the other end of the field, a team that scored four goals against Canada will fancy their chances. Also, Croatia know that the emphasis is on Belgium to make the game, and they will be able to use the counter-punch!
