SILKEBORG vs NORDSJAELLAND
At the end of the last (main) seasons Super Liga, Silkeborg finished 7th of 12. In comparison, Nordsjaelland ended top of the table, with 14 points more than SIF.
Unfortunately, the Tigers couldn’t sustain their title challenge until the end of the Championship Group, and they lost out to FCK. Nevertheless, the owners must have been ecstatic to finish 2nd, and they have shown their faith by investing another €5 million in players.
Nordsjaelland is competing on two fronts, with the other being the Europa Conference League. Incidentally, Johannes Thorup’s team came through the opening round against Romanian side FCSB.
As for the league, the visitors won all four games and top the table. In fact, Thorup’s men hammered all of Randers (0-5), Brondby (3-1), Aarhus (1-3), and Viborg (4-1). To cut a long story short, the tigers look better than ever.
Meanwhile, during the last season, Silkeborg won 2-1 in both meetings with Nordsjaelland. However, we thought they were a little fortunate to win the last meeting, and the SIF squad doesn’t look anything special.
At the time of writing, Kent Nielsen’s men took four points from the same amount of League fixtures. Following back-to-back defeats against Midtjylland and Brondby, today’s host beat Vejle and drew in Aarhus. Whether those results can be filed under improvement is open to conjecture, but we say no!
In conclusion, The Tigers look hungrier than ever, and they have been crushing every team they played. More of the same should be enough!
