Sixteenth-placed Everton plays host to tenth-placed Brighton. As it stands, the home team managed just 15 points from 17 games. Eight of those were taken at home, with the two wins coming against West Ham & Crystal Palace.

To the annoyance of Frank Lampard, Everton will be without midfielder Amadou Onana. The Toffee’s coach said Onana picked up a needless yellow card, which means he’s suspended for today’s match.

Nevertheless, Lampard will be highly encouraged by the draw in Manchester City. After losing their previous match in the 95th minute to Wolves, it was a great bounce back to take a point at the Champions. To put it into perspective, City started that match at odds of 1.15, thus making them a -2.5 goal favorite.

The good news for the host is Calvert-Lewin is back leading the line. In his comeback game, the Everton star striker lasted 70 minutes against the Citizens. Either Abdoulaye Doucoure or Tom Davies will replace Onana. Anthony Gordon and Yerry Mina are struggling with illness and both are doubts about today. Other than that, only James Garner and Andrés Townsend remain sidelined with injuries.

As for Brighton, they arrive at Goodison Park on the back of losing to Arsenal. While the Seagulls had 68% possession against the league leaders, their opponent created more chances. Moreover, the two-goal difference was justified, and the possession rate was down to Arsenal protecting the lead.

Previously, the visitors had won in Southampton, and it’s interesting to note that they took more points on the road. For the record, Brighton won other away matches at Wolves, Manchester United, and West Brom.

For today’s match, Roberto Di Zerbi is without Danny Welbeck and Adam Webster. However, Mac Allister is back from his World Cup win, and he could be back in the starting line. Lastly, Moises Caicedo will return to midfield after serving a one-game suspension.

Betting is all about the odds, and it is somehow amazing that Everton is being offered with the draw included!
