FRANCE vs POLAND – WC BETTING PICK

Poland made it through to the knockout stage by having a better goal difference than Mexico. The 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia was the decisive result, with Mexico beating the same team by just one goal. However, despite making it into the last 16, the Eagles have been poor!

The only Polish player to shine against Argentina was goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. The Juventus stopper saved a penalty from Lionel Messi, and he kept out another 7 shots on target. While Szczesny couldn’t stop goals from Mac Allister or Julian Alvarez, he at least limited the opponents to just two goals.

For the record, the xG on that match ended at 4.02 – 0.28. Such was Argentina’s dominance, a 4-goal difference is a fairer reflection of what happened.

Czeslaw Michniewicz will have a full squad of players available. Nevertheless, despite being outclassed in their last game, the head coach is unlikely to make changes.

With that in mind, the substituted Przemyslaw Frankowski and Karol Swiderski are expected to start. Robert Lewandowski and Karol Swiderski will be preferred to Arkadiusz Milik and Krzysztof Piatek in attack. Whereas, the back-four will consist of Matty Cash, Kamil Glik, Kiwior and Bereszynski!

Despite losing their last game, France finished top of Group D. A 4-1 win over Australia was a good start to the tournament for Didier Deschamps team! And, the 2-1 against Denmark was more comfortable (xG 3.05 – 0.89) than the scoreline suggested.

While Deschamps for a better result, the coach was pragmatic enough to make 8 changes for the game against Tunisia. As a result, the team looked disjointed and they were beaten 1-0 by the North Africans.

From what we watched, none of the players coming into the starting XI did enough to be considered for today. Since Theo Hernandez recovered from a knock and resumed training, the same team which beat Denmark is available.

Whether France can go all the way remains to be seen. Nevertheless, they have been the most impressive team to date, with the likes of Mbappe and Griezmann standing out from the crowd.

In summary, France should have too much firepower for Poland. If Argentina can take the Eagles apart, so can the Blues!
