FRIDAY FREE RACING TIP
HEXHAM 12:48 ONESTEPATATIME 9/2
While she’s a CD winner, I’m not convinced that AAZZA will be suited by three miles. Rose Dobbin is giving the 6-year-old a chance by handing the ride to a 10-pound claimer. Nevertheless, none of that will matter if she doesn’t stay.
GYPSY LEE ROSE won 2/23 races, and one of them was for today’s jockey over this course & distance. However, the grey was upped 5 pounds for landing that race, and her jockey lost two pounds of his claim. Furthermore, the 8-year-old is carrying a pound more than her new mark, and for a small mare, she’s carrying a big weight.
ASKING FOR ANSWERS is another course & distance winner, and he made a pleasing return from his summer break. In fact, without the bad mistakes, he might have won that day. with that said, he’s prone to jumping errors and that’s the worry again.
RETURN FIRE is yet to win in nine attempts, and his 3rd of 4 on his chasing debut leaves more questions than answers. Consequently, his hope depends on the soft ground and his jockey claiming 10 pounds.
One I can’t get excited about is EVENT OF SIVOLA. Based on her recent efforts, Mark Walford’s 8-year-old is silly odds and easy to oppose.
As for the winner, I’m taking chasing debutant ONESTEPATATIME. On this occasion, the 7-year-old will be ridden by Theo Gillard. She’s the winner of a point-to-point, and there is no doubt that chasing will suit the JEREMY daughter better.
John Wainright’s charge won’t have any issues with the ground, and we know she’s a strong stayer. If she puts in a good round of jumping, this is a great opportunity.
