KREJCIKOVA vs POTAPOVA BETTING TIP
In 2021, Barbora Krejcikova was the biggest improver on tour. For the record, the Czech player first announced herself by making the final of Dubai. In that tournament, she beat Maria Sakkari, Jelena Ostapenko, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Jil Teichmann, and (todays opponent) Anastasia Potapova.
During that same season, Krejcikova won Strasbourg and then shocked the world by winning the French Open. Interestingly, her first match in Paris was just two days after winning that WTA250 tournament! The now 26-year-old went on to make the fourth round of London before winning Prague. A quarter-final at the US Open added more points to Krejcikova’s ranking, and she was rewarded with a place in the WTA Finals.
Since the start of 2021, things haven’t been going well for the former number two. In fact, after making the final of Sydney and the QF of the Australian Open everything went wrong.
From what we understand, an existing arm injury kept her out for three months. On returning for the French Open, Barbora was one of three former Champions to be knocked out in the first round. If that wasn’t bad enough, she was forced to miss the doubles after contracting Covid!
The best Krejcikova could do at this year’s Wimbledon was round three. At last week’s Budapest, she was knocked out in the first round by Xiyu Wang. With regards to the current week, Krejcikova beat players ranked 161 and 84. Suffice to say, that proves nothing!
Meanwhile, Potapova is in better form this year, and she arrived here on the back of making the semi-final in Lausanne. In the first round, the 21-year-old beat 59-ranked Varvara Grecheva. Subsequently, she also won a straight sets match against Maria Lourdes Carla.
As it stands, Potapova is up to a career-high rank of 63. Also, she’s 17/6 on this year’s clay, and she won a tournament in Istanbul.
If Potapova can peak, she would have a chance of winning this match.
