LUDLOW RACING TIPS X2

1:35 AIRTOTHETHRONE 6/1

JEAN JEANNIE came either 2nd or 3rd on 12 occasions, but she’s yet to win. With all due respect, the alarm bells are ringing in my head. The problem with PASEO is he’s very one-paced, and his 1/23 win record tells its own story.

As for BORN AT MIDNIGHT, he was a good winner of a similar race at Taunton. Since that track is similar to Ludlow, the change of venues isn’t a problem. In short, Bill Turner’s 7-year-old is the one to beat.

Nevertheless, I’m going to take him on with chasing debutant AIRTOTHETHRONE. Alan John’s is taking the ride on the 6-year-old, and this placed point-to-pointer is sure to have been well-schooled.

Furthermore, a mark of 103 is more than fair, and he’s going to strip fitter following a recent run.

2:10 FARMERS GAMBLE 7/2

It is easy to understand why LANGLEY HUNDRED is poor odds. The 5-year-old won his last race for today’s jockey, and he’s unpenalized for winning that conditionals race. Also, at Exeter, the first two were 13 lengths clear of the 3rd, and this lightly raced individual is open to further improvement.

However, while the Philip Hobbs gelding is the obvious one, he comes from a stable that lacks consistency.

For a number of reasons, I’m going to be recommending FARMERS GAMBLE. Firstly, the Skelton-trained 6-year-old needed a run last year, thus he should strip fitter for his recent return to the track. Secondly, that last race at Lingfield was at the wrong distance, whereas his last win was at three miles. Finally, he’s lightly raced and better than a mark of 107.
