LYNGBY vs SILKEBORG – BETTING TIP
Interestingly, while the head to heads is fairly matched, Lyngby won the last five meetings. We have to go back 9 meetings for a Silkeborg win!
SIF are one of those teams which mixed playing in the top league with playing in the first division. In fact, after being promoted at the end of the 2018/19 season, they were relegated a year later. On a positive note, Silkeborg was promoted again at the end of the 2020/21 season!
Kent Nielsen has been the head coach since 2019, and under his guidance, they made the cut for last season’s Championship group. Furthermore, after finishing 6th during the main campaign, SIF made it into 3rd by the end of that campaign.
The reward for last season’s finish is a place in this year’s Europa League qualification. However, if we are being realistic, Nielsen’s men don’t have much chance at that level. For the record, Silkeborg ended the last campaign 16 & 19 points behind FCK and Midtjylland.
With regards to changes in playing staff, not much happened in SIF. Consequently, Nielsen is in charge of a 29-man squad with an average age of just 23.2.
Meanwhile, after finishing 2nd in last season’s first division, Lyngby was promoted to the top league. Suffice to say, Freyr Alexandersson is still in charge of the Vikings, and he’s been able to add a few players to his squad.
While he might be a bit older than ideal, 34-year-old Andreas Bjelland arrived on a free transfer from FCK. The centre-back played 381 matches, including Superligaen, Eredivisie and the English Championship. With an average squad age of 23 years old, Bjelland will bring his experience to Lyngby.
As for the bet, we are recommending the hosts. Home advantage and recent friendly results suggest they will be good to go!
