TAUNTON 1:40 GEORGI GIRL 11/4

If this were a handicap, DESPEREAUX would only be giving 4 pounds to GEORGI GIRL. While Jane Williams’ gelding should improve a bit, he’s not the easiest of rides.

As for GEORGI GIRL, she’s going to appreciate returning to this sharp-right-handed course. For the record, Ben Jones’ mount won at Ludlow which is similar to Taunton.

Subsequently, after taking a tug, the daughter of GETAWAY could only finish 3rd at Ffos Las. Nevertheless, the form is decent, and in receipt of the mares allowance she can bounce back to winning ways!

STRATFORD 1:30 EXTRAORDINARY MAN 10/1

First-time blinkers will need to wake up TIGER VOICE!

As for THE LASTHIGHKING, I’m concerned about the drop back in distance. Furthermore, his jockey lost his three-pound claim, and that will make it tougher.

GRANDEUR D’AME has scope to improve, it’s just that he’s favorite and the runners from Alan Kings’ stable need to be treated with caution.

For the most part, GREENROCK ABBEY progressed for the switch to fences. However, Kerry Lee’s 7-year-old won both his races at a right-handed track, and he’s gone up again in the weights.

Whatever happens, these odds being offered about EXTRAORDINARY MAN are of great value. David Bridgewater’s 7-year-old is going to be a better chaser than he was a hurdler. Not to mention, in five runs he’s dropped 10 pounds in the handicap.

Lily Pinchin will take off a further 3 pounds, and conditions will suit. What is more, the son of NO RISK AT ALL had excuses for his two-season runs, and he should be primed for today! To tell the truth, these are the types of bets I tend to double up on! After all, hitting one at big odds gets us up the snakes & ladders board faster.

STRATFORD 2:40 ANIMAL 3/1

While ICAQUE DE L’ISLE will benefit from the weight-for-age allowance, I’ve seen enough of the 5-year-old. In short, Richard Bandey’s French bred doesn’t find much, and he would be better off racing in France. Forget the last run of ANIMAL, he was badly impeded at an early stage. From then on his task was impossible, and he was given a schooling ride.

In the meantime, the handicapper dropped Suzy Smith’s runner another pound. Previously, the 7-year-old had run well at Wincanton. He’s the type to appreciate this type of track, and his bumper win came on similar ground.

STRATFORD 3:15 GUMBALL 7/1

IN THIS WORLD is an unknown quantity, and he might well win on his return from a long break. However, at such short odds, I’m not interested in the Skelton runner.

I must admit to being conned about BUBBLE DUBI on two occasions, it won’t be happening today!

Course and distance form are positive, and GALICE MACALO ticks that box. My main reasons for opposing the Jane Williams runner are a high handicap mark, and Ciaran Gethings preferring another!

While he’s got a mind of his own, GUMBALL is more than capable. The 9-year-old goes best for female jockeys, and on this occasion, Fern O’Brien takes off 7 pounds. A recent run on the flat will have sharpened the grey, and these odds are more than fair!

PLUMPTON 1:50 AH WHISHT 9/4

There are some interesting types in this race, but it’s hard to see past AH WHISHT. On her hurdling debut, Tom Symonds’ 6-year-old won a 4-runner race by easing down 14L.

The 2nd that day was the previous winner ROYALE DANCE, and the 3rd was a further 23L behind. The value of the form is worth 120+, and she’s sure to improve. Also, I reckon that she will be even better on this soft ground because she won a point-to-point on the same.

PS – The form of that race worked out well, with the 2nd winning next time up!

PLUMPTON 3:00 EVERYTHING’SONTICK 6/1

ROYAL SAM and KENNY GEORGE are at the right end of the weights, albeit the latter is fully-exposed. While he’s consistent, I will be happy to lay LE PATRON on the betting exchanges.

Whereas, both CONKWELL LEGEND and PARICOLOR need a return to form.

Despite not racing for 381 days, I’m only interested in the potential of EVERYTHING’SONTICK. When last seen, the 7-year-old looked progressive.

Useful conditional rider Izzie Marshall is taking off 7 pounds, and his trainer had a 14/1 winner the other day. To cut a long story short, we are going to take a leap of faith in Lawney Hill’s training ability.

PLUMPTON 3:35 BEAUFORT WEST 14/1

Course and distance winner MIDNIGHTREFLECTION won her last race, and she’s a course and distance winner. Nevertheless, giving away weight in a small field won’t help, and I’m against the idea of using the 7-pound claim of Charlie Price.

The Emma Lavelle pair need a return to form, while RAMO lacks a turn of foot. Meanwhile, Page Fuller is back in the saddle riding BEAUFORT WEST, and he’s at the right end of the weight scale.

While he never reached the heights expected, Andy Irvine’s 9-year-old showed better form last time out. Moreover, this out-and-out stayer has his ground, and he’s on an attractive handicap mark!
