2:25 WHIP CRACKER 7/2

ENDLESS VICTORY won both of his races to date. On his debut, Charlie Appleby’s colt landed a Wolverhampton (all-weather) Novice stakes by a comfortable four lengths. In his next race over this course and distance, the son of TEOFILO battled on well to see off SALAMANCA by a short-head.

At Newmarket, it should be noted that he gave 7 pounds to the 2nd horse. However, he got the run of the race, and he needed to be hard-ridden. If Jane Chapple-Hyam’s colt had settled better, he would have won with a bit to spare. Watch a replay and you will hopefully see what I mean!

In his first race of the season, SAYEDATY SADATY was only touched off by CUBAN TIGER. The handicapper raised the son of ANODIN 13 pounds for that effort, thus limiting his chance in that sphere. My issues with the Andrew Balding runner are two-fold, with the first being the winner of that race let the form down. Secondly, he’s more exposed than the others and seems best on an all-weather surface!

If we go back 16 days, WHIP CRACKER & CAVIER HEIGHTS finished second and third respectively to JAYAREBE (replay). While neither had a chance with the 3.25L winner, they put daylight between themselves and the other 7-runners.

While the margin between WHIP CRACKER & CAVIER HEIGHTS was only a short head, the first mentioned has more scope. After racing a bit free during the early stages of that race, Richard Hughes gelding stayed on to take 2nd place.

The son of CRACKSMAN will be fitter & wiser today, and he’s sure to appreciate the extra distance. The ground is a positive! Since he only raced three times and needed his recent run, he is sure to improve further. All-in-all, odds of around 7/2 are more than fair!
