In yesterday’s LaLiga-2 match between Andorra and Cartagena, the hosts had absolute control of the game. Nevertheless, 69% possession, 25-2 goal attempts, and 10-2 shots meant nothing when the away team scored a 94th-minute winner. Consequently, the better team doesn’t always win football matches, it’s the score that counts!

As it stands, Ponferradina is 20th of 22 in the table. However, the hosts are just 7 points behind 11th-placed Huesca, and winning this game in hand would move them to 16th.

La Ponfe recently parted company with former manager Jose Manuel Gomes. On the 20th of November, former Sporting Gijon manager David Gallego was appointed until the end of the season.

Unfortunately, the new boss started his tenure with a 1-0 defeat to Malaga. For that match, Gallego made three-player changes and switched to a more defensive 4-3-2-1. To make a long story short, Ponferradina played negative football and they were made to pay!

For tonight’s match, the hosts are without two center-backs. Both Alexandru Pascanu and Adrian Dieguez picked up one yellow card too many against Malaga, meaning they are suspended. Nwakali is sidelined through injury, and Jordan Lukaku is a big doubt. However, first-choice GK Amir Abedzadeh is back from the World Cup, and he should be able to start!

Meanwhile, with a win tonight Burgos CF would join two other clubs at the top of the table. In the last round, the team coached by Julian Calero scored a late equalizer to draw against Zaragoza. The draw felt about right, especially since Atienza scored in his own net!

For the most part, the Burgaleses have been excellent in defense. In fact, the visitors conceded just 6 goals in 16 matches, and only two of those came on the road. On the other end, Burgos only scored 4 away goals. All the same, it hasn’t stopped them from winning 3 of their last four away matches and they were the only team to win in Las Palmas.

The visitors are without suspended players Miki Munoz and Actor Cordoba. Because of injury, Unai Elgezabal was replaced after 15 minutes of the last match. The defender is out of this fixture, while Sierra and Zabaco are other doubts. For the record, Andy and Javi Perez are long-term injured, but coach Calero can’t miss what he never had!

We are taking the visitors to grind out another result. With the safety net of the draw no bet, this is a sound proposition!
