PREMIUM RACING TIPS X2
WINCANTON 2:30 THELASTHIGHKING 11/2
Since going over fences, CALGARY TIGER is much improved. One of his wins was over this CD, and he then followed up at Newbury. The 8-year-old is the rightful favorite and a 10-pound penalty for winning is realistic.
Nevertheless, we need to recognize that this is a better race, and the odds of around 11/10 are unappealing. To cut a long story short, William de Best-Turner’s gelding is still a novice and he’s got 13 fences to negotiate.
For the purpose of betting, the odds of 5/1 about THELASTHIGHKING are massive! Jordan Nailor’s mount has the scope to do even better over fences, and the fact is he’s 4 pounds lower in this sphere.
My only other consideration would be CASA TALL, albeit the 9-year-old is fully exposed.

PREMIUM RACING TIPS X2
WINCANTON 3:00 HOTEL DU NORD 5/1
At Doncaster, THE KINGS WRIT cruised into contention before hitting a flat spot. While he ran on again at the finish, he gives the impression of being handicapped to the hilt. Several of these have something to prove, including the four who recently pulled up.
For the record, BERMEO, WEST APPROACH, SMUGGLER’S BLUES, and BALLINSLEA BRIDGE fit into that category. Despite winning 10 of his 62 races, FLYING VERSE was only able to win back-to-back on one occasion. None the less, with his 16% strike rate, he should be thereabouts.
As for DUC DE BEAUCHENE, he’s yet to prove that he stays this far. Furthermore, he was poor in his last race at Hereford, and this is going to be more of a test.
While he’s yet to win under rules, HOTEL DU NORD did at least win two point-to-points. A change to another stable is an interesting factor, and getting Gavin Sheehan to ride is a bonus.
Finally, it’s hard to get away from the fact that the 10-year-old is very well handicapped!
