HUNTINGDON 4:00 CLOUDY WEDNESDAY 15/2

Olly Murphy trained OUT OF THE GLEN and won 5 from 23 races. However, the last of them was 15 months ago, and he’s never won from such a high mark (101). While connections have decided it’s time for cheekpieces, it is hard to imagine a 10-year-old improving. Nevertheless, in a weak race, he could win by default, albeit he will be challenged by the top weight!

Despite having the best recent form figures, LETSBE AVENUE is very beatable. While Kieran Burke’s 8-year-old did win a chase, he’s not the most natural of jumpers. Also, with 42 races under the belt, he’s fully exposed, and the extra distance could stretch his stamina.

In 15 races, LOUGH CARRA is yet to win! However, the Jennie Candlish trained 6-year-old finished 2nd on four occasions, and he should do a bit better over fences. Furthermore, a switch to chasing and good ground could ignite a return to form.

If we go back to November 2021, CLOUDY WEDNESDAY won an Irish point-to-point. Since moving to Caroline Fryer, the 7-year-old won one of his fifteen races. Incidentally, that was in February, and from a one-pound higher mark than he’s set to carry today.

Lewis Stone will ride the son of CLOUDINGS, and he’s run well on this track. The good ground is ideal, and so is the 2M4F distance. From my reading of the race, these odds are more than fair and he’s worth chancing!
