SANDOWN 1:40 GREANTEEN 3/1

JONBON won 9 of his 11 races, and he’s 4 from 5 over fences. Nevertheless, he’s not top-rated, and coming into this on the back of running at both Cheltenham and Aintree isn’t ideal.

At big (50/1) odds, FUNAMBULE SIVOLA is being supported. However, while the ground will help his chance, he doesn’t have the class for such a race.

As for EDITEUR DU GITE, he’s had his day in the limelight. While Irish invader CAPTAIN GUINEASS is the one I would want to lay!

I’m with the highest-rated runner in the field, namely GREANTEEN. Paul Nicholls’ 9-year-old won 8 of his 18 chase races, and more importantly, he’s back on his favourite track!

LEICESTER 4:15 STRATEGIA 7/2

Andrea Atzeni rides the course particularly well, and he should be able to get STRATEGIA to settle better. The 3-year-old ran too free on his seasonal debut, and he’s better than the bare result suggests.

From a breeding perspective, the son of SHALAA can only get better with experience. This race is winnable, and our money is down!

RIPON 15:35 IT’S GOOD TO LAUGH 9/2

Hollie Doyle has a good book of rides, and the one I like most is the Jennie Candlish trained IT’S GOOD TO LAUGH. While the 8-year old disappointed in a hurdle race, she’s had 31 days to recover.

The two miles on an easy course are spot on, and the testing ground won’t be an issue. Since he’s dropped 9 pounds in the ratings, that’s another key factor!
