RACING TIPS – WHY THIS UNEXPOSED HORSE CAN WIN TODAY

AYR 2:00 HOMBRE DE GUERRA 7/2

S R B Crawford trained AYIKO and won his bumper at this track. From my reading of the race, the form is just moderate! Subsequently, the son of CHAMPS ELYSEES was 10th/10 in a Grade Two NHF race at Leopardstown. For the record, his finishing position aligned with his starting price of 125/1. In short, he’s got something to prove on his hurdling debut, and he’s likely to need further!

HAZY GLEN is the runner with the highest (113) official rating. Last time out, the Mick & David Easterby trained 5-year-old was only beaten a neck by MOON OVER MEXICO. Since the 3rd won his next race, the form is solid. However, the grey will need to settle better, and getting cover on this track isn’t easy!

Winning point-to-pointer RIDIN SOLO has since run in two hurdle races. The assessor is rating the 6-year-old 106, which suggests he will need to improve. If Donald McCain thought he was particularly well handicapped, he would have raced in that grade. To cut a long story short, I’m not overly excited about his prospect!

I like the idea of Danny McMenamin taking over the ride on HOMBRE DE GUERRA. While he is yet to win in 5 attempts, he’s earned a solid rating (111).

Neil Alexander’s 6-year-old should be forgiven his last run because he didn’t stay 2M4.5F on heavy ground. And, while he’s got room to improve in the jumping department, today’s rider will help him find momentum. The son of SOLDIER OF FORTUNE will appreciate conditions, and I will be betting accordingly!
