SOFIA KENIN vs MARIE BOUZKOVA – BETTING TIP

Back in 2017, Sofia Kenin won her only meeting with Marie Bouzkova. At the time, both players were 18-year-olds, and Kenin was the higher-ranked of the pair.
Bouzkova starts the week ranked 26, which is just two places below the Czech player’s career-high of 24. However, she comes into today’s match on the back of a 4-5 YTD, and she failed to qualify for last week’s Doha.
Nevertheless, before losing at that tournament to Rebecca Marino, she had beaten both Tereza Martincova and Laura Siegemund in straight sets. Furthermore, we believe she ditched Doha at an early stage, with her intention being to focus on this more prestigious tournament.
For the record, Bouzkova has an excellent record on hard courts. In fact, the 24-year-old won 68.7% of her matches on this surface. In comparison, her average win rate is 63.4%, and that makes this her favorite surface!
In 2022, Bouzkova went 33-11 (75%) on the hard court, and she won her home tournament in Prague. However, the highlight of Marie’s year was making it to the semi-final of Guadalajara ($2.5 million).
As for Kenin, she’s trying to regroup following 2.5 bad years. At the time of writing, Kenin is ranked 210, and she comes into this on the back of a 5-5. To be fair, the American did beat Liudmila in the first round of Doha, albeit her opponent made it easy.
To cut a long story short, Bouzkova should be about to peak. When that happens, the Czech player is very hard to beat. We expect Marie to put up plenty of resistance, and that should put enough pressure on her opponent to secure a result!
