While the North Londoners are 1 to 7 points clear of the next five teams, most have a game or two in hand. Suffice to say, maintaining the final Champions League spot is going to be a challenge.
The hosts have confirmed that Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Hugo Lloris, and Ryan Sessegnon are out. Moreover, coach Conte underwent a gallbladder operation, meaning he won’t be on the sidelines for today’s encounter!
Meanwhile, Spurs won three of their last four league games, and one of them was against Manchester City. Unfortunately, sandwiched in between was a 4-1 mauling by Leicester, which again underlines the inconsistencies of the host!
Following the 2-0 win over West Ham, we are not expecting Conti to make many changes. After scoring in the last encounter, wing-back Emerson will be preferred to Pedro Porro. The only real question is whether Son will replace Richarlison in support of Harry Kane.
Chelsea took just three points from their last four games. As a consequence, manager Graham Potter’s job is on the line. The former Brighton boss will need his players to raise their game, and that’s what we are expecting.
Interestingly, despite missing five players through injury, the Blues are starting to get players back. On that note, Potter will need to reckon without Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic, Cesar Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante, and Edouard Mendy.
Nevertheless, the likes of Thiago Silva and Reece James are back in contention, and the coach has a deep squad and plenty of options. All of Mykhaylo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, and Kai Havertz will be hoping for a start, meaning Forfana and Mount could be replaced!
To conclude, player-for-player Chelsea has a stronger hand. We expect this to be the perfect rehearsal for the up-and-coming Champions League match against Dortmund. Taking the blues with a big one!!
