WEST BROM vs BRISTOL CITY – BETTING TIP
The problem at West Brom was the manager and not the players. Following the inevitable sacking of Steve Bruce, interim boss Richard Beale sent out the Baggies for a 0-2 win!
At the weekend, goals from Matt Phillips and Taylor Gardner-Hickman were enough for West Brom to take 3 points. While the 2nd goal was against the run of play, the first from Philips was a scorcher. Grady Diangana should have also done better with what was an easy chance. To make a long story short, the Baggies deserved the win. Several of the players stood out, and we had the goalkeeper Alex Palmer as the man of the match.
For the record, it was the first time this season that the Baggies won an away game. As the coach said in his post-match interview, we need points fast and winning breeds confidence!
WBA are still without four injured players, namely, Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley, Daryl Dike and Kean Bryan.
Meanwhile, Bristol City has 18 points from 15 games. As it stands, Nigel Pearson’s team are 15th in the table, and that sinks to 19th from seven away games.
The Robins lost their weekend fixture to Millwall, and if anything the one-goal difference should have been bigger. In fact, the Robins managed just one shot on target, and they benefited from an own goal from Shaun Hutchinson. In comparison, the Lions had double the amount of goal attempts, and seven shots on target. Moreover, Afobe missed a penalty for Millwall, while Hutchinson and Wallace had attempts cleared off the line.
Following the match, Bristol City coach Pearson said his team conceded two poor goals. However, being more analytical, we can simply say that the Robins were poor.
The city should get Matty James back for tonight’s game. However, Kyle Naismith continues to be a big miss, while Ayman Benarous and Kane Wilson are long-term absentees.
To summarise, with Bruce went the Baggies can only improve. The weekend win was a sign of better things to come, and getting back to the Hawthornes is a massive positive. There was a time that WBA was unbeatable at home, and that’s what we expect going forwards.
