Westerlo vs Seraing - Betting Tip.

There was a time when Westerlo was unbeatable at home. While the situation changed over the years, De Kamphanen is still going to be difficult to stop at the Het Kuipje.

After being promoted from the first division, it was always going to take Jonas De Roeck’s time to readjust to the higher level. Nevertheless, they have been getting it together, and this fixture looks winnable.

For the record, following an opening win against Cerclee Brugge, Westerlo lost five of their next six games. However, only one of those matches was played at home, and since then they bounced back to win their last four!

By the way, Westerlo won their most recent game at reigning champions Club Brugge. Previously, De Roeck’s men won three other matches against Waregem (2-0), Charleroi (2-3) and Anderlecht (2-1).

The hosts are likely to be without Bernat and Van Eenoo, although both are training and could become available. Only Dani is a confirmed absentee for Waregem.

Seraing needed a play-out to survive the 2021/22 season. At the time of writing, the visitors took 10 points from 11 games. Jose Jeunechamps are currently 14th of 18 in the league table.

The visitors come into this match on the back of a drawing (1-1) against Oostende. Coach Jeunechamps will have been disappointed to drop points to the Kustboys because they were leading 1-0. However, the situation changed after Sylla was red-carded, and Oostende equalised during injury time.

Previously, Seraing shocked St Liege 0-2, but before that, they had been beaten by Antwerp and Club Brugge.

We are still awaiting the outcome of Sylla’s red card appeal, and with a bunch of defenders missing his absence would be a problem. Incidentally, the visitor’s biggest miss is first-choice keeper Guillaume Dietsch, Timothy Gale will be handed the gloves. Also, Kilt, D’Onofrio, Dembele, Ba and Depoint are confirmed absentees.

In summary, the visitors won’t go down without trying, but they are unlikely to stop winning of Westerlo. The hosts are top performers at home, beating the likes of Club Brugge, Anderlecht and Charleroi auger well!
