WORCESTER WINNER – GET ON
1:55 PASS ME BY 7/2
GLOIRE D’ATHON won on his 3rd attempt over fences, and it was for today’s jockey Aidan Coleman. However, while he won that race by an easy 10L, the form is nothing special.
In fact, there were just 4-runners, and one of them pulled up. While the 2nd has won one of his five races since then, it was over further. Also, the 3rd horse didn’t stay, thus the winning margins were exaggerated. Finally, we need to consider that he’s been raised another 6 pounds, and he’s not run for 146 days.
LIMETREE BOY is making a quick switch to fences, but that might have been forced by the handicapper. Whatever the reason, Jonjo O’Neill’s runner usually needs a run.
When last seen, GALTEE MOUNTAIN was in great form. For the record, Gavin Sheehan’s mount won his last three races, and in doing so progressed 16 pounds over fences.
One that could improve after changing stables is GREAT OCEAN. Since the last time he raced, he switched from Philip Hobbs to Neil Mulholland. The 6-year-old is on a fair mark, albeit he does need to prove that he can jump fences.
With everyone considered, I won’t be looking any further than PASS ME BY. Richard Bandey’s 6-year-old starts his chasing career with an advantageous handicap mark. While he fell into a hurdle, that was through ignorance rather than not being able to jump.
For the most part, he’s given a good impression, and he’s sure to make it into a better chaser. Lastly, his trainer can be relied upon, and he will have the services of a really good jockey.
