WTA BIRMINGHAM: QUALIFYING MATCH BETTING PICK

WTA Birmingham: Qualifying Match Betting Pick. We typically avoid sending out betting tips for qualifiers due to low betting limits. However, given the current lack of opportunities on Saturday, we believe this bet is intriguing!

Next up are Birmingham and the more prestigious event in Berlin, followed by Bad Homburg and Eastbourne the following week. The highlight of the grass season, Wimbledon, runs from July 1st to 14th!

OLIVIA GADECKI vs DARIA SAVILLE

For context, Daria Saville was once ranked as high as number 20. However, since her return from injuries that restricted her to just 12 matches from 2020 to the end of 2021, she has only managed to climb back to rank 84.

Although Dasha won a match at Nottingham against Clara Burel, the quality of play was notably poor. Moreover, 13 of the 18 games in that match ended with the server being broken. It’s fair to say that if a player can’t serve effectively on grass, their chances of success are diminished.

Additionally, the 30-year-old’s record on grass is underwhelming, with a win rate of just 41.8%. As a baseline-player, she is particularly vulnerable on such a fast surface.

In this qualifying match, Saville faces the capable Olivia Gadecki. While Gadecki has yet to break into the top 100, she has been ultra-consistent.

In her recent tournament at Surbiton, Gadecki reached the semi-finals after qualifying. The 22-year-old has also secured season wins against notable players like Shelby Rogers, Sloane Stephens, and Dalma Galfi, a semi-finalist in Hertogenbosch. Last year’s grass circuit saw her defeat players such as Ann Li, Arina Rodionova, and Katrina Scott, all of whom were in decent form.

Given these positive odds, we are backing Gadecki to overcome her more experienced opponent. Simply put, she’s a surface pick!
