WTA PRAGUE – BETTING PREVIEW
Russian players were refused visas to play in Prague, and Tatjana Maria withdrew from the tournament. The cards have been remixed, and we are making one bet on Monday!
XINYU WANG vs VIKTORIA HRUNCAKOVA
Viktoria Hruncakova is back on her favorite surface, and she made easy work out of qualifying.
The 25-year-old Slovakian is 25/20 this year, and her overall win record on hard court is 68.1%. However, since peaking at rank 43 in 2019, she’s dropped down the rankings to 117!
The highlight of Hruncakova’s season was making it to the semi-final of a grass tournament in Hertogenbosch. At that tournament, she claimed the scalp of Bianca Andreescu before losing to Veronika Kudermetova.
A QF in Auckland and reaching the final of a W40 in Tallinn were other solid efforts. As for her record against top 100 ranked players, Clara Tauson, Emma Raducanu, Elisabetta Cocciaretto, Bernarda Pera and Varvara Gracheva are on this year’s list!
Meanwhile, in April, Xinyu Wang reached a career-high rank of 59. However, following first-round exits in Madrid, Rome, Reus, and Strasbourg her rank dropped back to 73.
For the record, Wang is 19-17 YTD, and from those, she’s 14-10 on hard court. On this surface, the 21-year-old reached this year’s semi-final of Hua Hin. Also, she was a quarter-finalist in Hobart and made the 3rd round of Indian Wells. In the latter tournament, she beat Ekaterina Alexandrova and Elise Mertens, and at the French Open Rebecca Peterson and Marie Bouzkova.
In conclusion, Hruncakova is a solid player at the right level. Nevertheless, if Wang is ready for her return, this should be relatively straightforward. Finally, Xinyu isn’t the type of player to take prisoners!
BET: XINYU WANG
Odds: 1.77 (1.79 Exchanges with good liquidity)
