BANGOR BETTING OPPORTUNITY 4-FREE
2:56 PIPERS CROSS 5/2
While this is just a lowly Class 5 race, it looks like a good betting opportunity. We believe that the selection is a ‘’good thing’’ and we will bet accordingly.
The Bottom three in the betting need to make significant improvements to win this race. As for OUR FRIEND MO, it’s interesting to see Jonjo O’Neill persist with the 5-year-old. Despite having a 10-pound claimer in the saddle, it’s hard to imagine Benjamin Macey’s mount being good enough to defy top weight!
BUSHTUCKER PARK was well-supported to win her last race, but she was beaten by a long-looking 14.5L. While the 5-year-old could find a race, a mark of 86 appears too high!
To be fair, SHESUPINCOURT holds a few of these, and returning to hurdles will suit her better. However, the 6-year-old won just 1/20 races, and her tendency to finish 2nd (6 times) is a cause for concern.
I have no hesitation in recommending a decent bet on PIPERS CROSS. Since last racing, the 6-year-old left Sandy Forster to join up-and-coming trainer Robbie Llewellyn. The Wroughton-based Llewellyn has his string in fine form, and he’s inheriting a mare who appears to be well-handicapped.
Neither the distance nor the ground will be a problem, and I’m expecting her to be fit enough! Kai Lenihan taking off three pounds is a positive, and racing against exposed types means we don’t have to worry about something improving!
