GIRONA vs GETAFE – BETTING PREVIEW

SPAIN LA LIGA

Both teams defied the odds to draw their opening games. In the case of Getafe, they frustrated Barcelona into a 0-0 draw.

In a bad-tempered match, Getafe gave up 75% possession to their opponents. Nevertheless, they limited Barca to just 4 shots on target, while managing two of their own. For the record, the xG for last week’s game was 0.58 Getafe and 1.22 Barcelona.

Jaime Mata was sent off in last week’s game, meaning he’s suspended for today. Getafe coach Pepe Bordelas confirmed that Luis Milla, Mauro Arambarri, and Enes Unal were still missing. On a positive note, Carmona is back in training and could be available. However, Stefan Mitrovic picked up a knock and will need to pass the doctor.

Girona came from behind to draw their season opener in Real Sociedad. After coming from the bench for his club debut, Artem Dovbyk scored the equalizer in 72 minutes.

For the most part, the Blanquivermells had the better chances in that last game. With that said, after the scoreline changed to 1-1, both teams seemed intent on securing the draw.

If we go back to the last season, Girona finished a highly respectable 10th in the league table. In fact, they ended that campaign 5 places above today’s visitors. Furthermore, 33 of those 49 points were taken at the Estadi Montilivi, and three of them were from the 3-1 win over Getafe.

From what we were told, Girona will have the same squad as last week. The likes of Borja Garcia, Toni Villa, Santiago Bueno, Joel Roca, Jastin, Callens, and Ibrahima Kebe continue to be missing.

Michel is unlikely to tamper with his starting XI, albeit that goal could have earned Dovbyk a chance. Torre, who is on loan from Barcelona, is also pushing to start.

In summary, we like the Girona project. The squad continues to be strengthened, and they seem to have plenty of player options. Taking points at home is what Girona does, and we expect that to be the case tonight!
