HIGH-VALUE MUSSELBURGH BETTING TIP
3:40 YAASER 9/2
She’s a strong front-runner, but I believe GONE needs further than 7F! Furthermore, Musselburgh is an easy track (read our guide), and she’s used to racing over further at stiffer courses. The other issue with Charlie Johnson’s filly is a mark of 74.
While she’s won 5 races and progressed from an opening mark of 58, she’s not won off anything higher than 67. To cut a long story short, the 3-year-old will be susceptible to something with a turn of foot.
Interestingly, ASCOT ADVENTURE is stepping back up in distance, and in May of last year, he won over 7F at Haydock. The bookmaker’s favorite is nicely treated at the weights, and he comes from a stable in good form.
However, the 5-year-old seems better suited to a straight track, and we want to take him on with YAASER.
At around this time last year, Jim Goldie’s gelding won a race at Doncaster. On that occasion, he had ASCOT ADVENTURE back in fifth. While the son of LOPE DE VEGA hasn’t won in 13 attempts since he comes into this on the back of a good run.
In fact, the 5-year-old was only beaten into a neck third over a mile at this track. This four-time winner will be best suited by dropping back a furlong, and the race should be run to suit. With Paul Mulrennan booked, we are optimistic!
