LEICESTER vs CHELSEA – PREMIUM PICK
ENGLAND PREMIER LEAGUE
At the time of writing, just six points separate 12th to 20th place. Leicester is currently 15th in the table and just two points above the relegation zone!
While coach Brendan Rodgers’ is too nice a person to complain to his board of directors, he should! After all, they failed to show any ambition in the pre-season transfer market, and they took €80 million for the sale of Wesley Fofana. Furthermore, letting team captain & goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel go for €1 million was a joke, and so was loaning out Ayoze Perez!
The Foxes come into this match on the back of four straight defeats, and three of those were in the League. In the last round, the team Rodgers sent out was woeful against bottom club Southampton. In fact, they couldn’t muster a single shot on target, and their strikers lacked confidence.
For today’s game, the coach won’t be able to call on playmaker Youri Tielemans! James Justin is going to be out for the near future and the always-injured Ryan Bertrand is still missing. The other definite absentee is Victor Kristensen, while Harvey Barnes is a big doubt. On a positive note, Jonny Evans’ is available, but the 35-year-old won’t be at peak fitness.
It will be interesting to see who Rodgers picks to lead the line, in that main striker Kelechi Iheanacho is misfiring!
Following successive wins, we believe Chelsea is back in business. By beating Dortmund 2-0 on Tuesday, Graham Potters’ men qualified for the next round of the Champions league. From what we watched, it was the best performance of the Blues season.
In that last match, all of Kai Havertz, Joao Felix, Enzo Fernandez, and man of the match Marc Cucurella had big games. On that note, we need to pick up on team news.
The coach said Raheem Sterling felt a thigh strain, and he would be a doubt for today. The recently returned Reece James is ill, while N’Golo Kante isn’t ready. Mason Mount, Thiago silva, Armando Broja, and Edouard Mendy are other confirmed absentees.
Also, Potters’ mentioned Emerick Aubameyang was still suffering from a back injury, while Azpilcueta remained a doubt. Nevertheless, with a squad of 32 quality players, Chelsea has all the options.
We are going to make a big bet on Chelsea!
