They are still doing the qualification round in Cleveland, but three main round games will be played later today. Of those, this is the only one that interests us for the purpose of betting!
By her own recognition, Anna Blinkova prefers playing on hard courts. With that in mind, we would expect to see the 24-year-old have a better strike rate on this surface.
For the record, Blinkova won just 55.4% of her hard-court matches. In comparison, her average strike rate across all surfaces is 59.2% and that goes up to 66.1% on indoor courts.
Blinkova is 25/21 this year, and of those, she’s 10/9 on the hard court. Incidentally, 5 of those wins came on the road to reaching the semi-final of Hobart.
Despite being just 3 ranking places below here career-high rank of 34, Blinkova is very ‘’hit & miss’’. In fact, she’s more miss than hit, with her last seven hard court tournaments ending before the 2nd-round.
Lin Zhu is a capable player, and with her, there is no doubting her favorite surface. Indeed, the 29-year-old played over 80% of her matches on a hard court, and her strike rate is a solid 62.4%.
While Zhu isn’t having the best of years to date, that can be put down to many of the tournaments being on Clay & Grass. In short, this is the time of the year when the Chinese player comes good!
We should also point to the fact that Zhu won this year’s Hua Hin, and these courts in Cleveland should suit her particularly well!
