INTER MIAMI vs PHILADELPHIA UNION – MLS

Following a slow start to the campaign, Inter Miami found more consistency. As it stands, Phil Neville’s team are 10th in the table, and in close proximity to the play-off zone. For the record, if Inter wins their game in hand, they will move to just one point outside the play-off zone!

The Herons come into this game on the back of a 1-0 defeat. Unfortunately, in Orlando, Damian Lowe scored a brilliant 92nd-minute goal, it’s just that it went into his own net!!

To be fair, the defender can’t be lumbered with all the blame for losing that match to the Lions. After all, Indiana Vassilev was twice wasteful, and Robert Taylor should have scored from a header. In a match that was broken by a two-hour weather delay, our xG (0.92 vs 1.02) suggests the visitors should have taken a point.

Previously, Neville’s men had defied the odds to draw in Dallas. Also, the hosts won their last three home games against Minnesota, Portland, and the Red Bulls. Finally, they are unbeaten in their last seven competitive matches in Fort Lauderdale.

On a positive note, Miami has close to a full squad available, although Ariel Lassiter will need to prove his fitness!

Meanwhile, Philadelphia Union is a joint Eastern conference leader. However, while they have a game in hand over the Red Bulls, one-point third NYFC have 1-2 games in hand!

When it comes down to the nitty-gritty of analysing Union, the visitors are unbeaten (5-5-0) at home. However, on the road, Philly won just 3 from 9 games.

In the last round, Jim Curtin’s men ran riot (7-0) over troubled club DC United! Nevertheless, the scoreline shouldn’t be taken at face value, and the fact is Union won just 3 of their last 14 matches.

We like the idea of home advantage and a positive response from Inter. Neville can pick the best XI, and they have the talent to wear down the visitors.

BET: INTER MIAMI +/-0 (draw no bet)
