It’s been raining on & off for the last three days in Munich, but a drying wind means the track is riding good-soft.
SAMMARCO won this last year, but he’s the stable 2nd string today. Based on his recent efforts & the quality of the opposition, it’s hard to imagine the 4-year-old repeating that win.
Twenty times winner SKALLETI was an easy winner of this in 2021. However, it was a poor renewal and he started at odds of 30/100 for that race. With all due respect to the others, this race should be between the two at the head of the market.
FANTASTIC MOON comes into this on the back of an impressive derby win. The son of SEA THE MOON is adaptable to conditions, and dropping back in distance isn’t a deal breaker. Nevertheless, he’s never met an opponent of NATIONS PRIDE caliber, and I’m sticking with the Godolphin owned 4 year old.
When last seen, the son of TEOFILIO finished a one-length 3rd in the Dubai World Cup. While he’s not raced since fitness isn’t going to be an issue. Furthermore, both his father and mother preferred easy ground, so he could be even better today.
We can only assume that these odds are available because he’s not run for a while. On the other hand, he will need to win this if he’s going to have a chance in the Juddomonte and Irish Champion Stakes.
