In meetings between these two clubs, we have to go back 9 games to find an away win. That went the way of Norrkoping, who are incidentally 3-2-0 over the last five home meetings with Elfsborg.
Three successive wins against Varbergs, Degerfors, and Hammarby helped Norrkoping move to 4th in the table. Also, if they win this game in hand against 3rd placed Elfsborg, the Peking will go 2nd.
From what we have been watching, Glenn Riddersholm’s men are starting to gel. In fact, since switching to a more orthodox 4-3-3 the results have improved.
The Norrkoping defense seems to have a better understanding since Daniel Eid was asked to start. Marco Lund is another defender to impress, and further, up the field, Vito Hammershoy-Mistrati is making a strong case!
As for Elfsborg, Jimmy Thelin got six successive wins out of his men. Following a first-round defeat to Hacken (0-2), EiF could only draw (0-0) in Varberg. However, since then they beat all of Brommapojkarna (2-1), Degerfors (1-2), Mjallby (2-1), Halmstad (6-1), Sirius (3-4) and Varnamo (2-0).
If we are being analytical, The Yellow Ones haven’t been beating much! Moreover, they were lucky to take all three points against Sirius and Mjallby.
To cut a long story short, we believe Riddersholm has the better balance. Home advantage is another factor, and with everything considered these odds are unbalanced!
