MARKET RASEN 2:15 PRESENTING A QUEEN 5/1 (6’s Exchange)
Following a comfortable win at Sedgefield, the assessor would have found it challenging to give WINDTOTHELIGHNING a mark. For the record, the handicapper must have used a line on DARCI’S DARLING (94) who finished a 13L third. Albeit, the 2nd MIDNIGHT SHUFFLE won yesterday, which adds some credibility to the form.
To cut a long story short, she should be competitive but I prefer to look further. Fergal O’Brien has his string in excellent form, and in this race, he’s represented by 8-year-old PHILLAPA SUE.
While I wouldn’t want to lay Liam Harrison’s mount, she would be better suited by easy ground. Following a battling display at Catterick, NOTNOWLINDA should appreciate the extra distance, and Harry Skelton taking over in the saddle is a good thing. Since the 6-year-old knows how to win, she can be trusted to give it her all.
However, I readily prefer 3-times winner PRESENTING A QUEEN, and now for the reasons why. She’s been given plenty of time to recover from her last race, and since then her stable ran into form.
Two of her wins came on good ground, and while she’s not won on a right-handed track it shouldn’t be an issue. Also, one of the 6-year-old wins came at Plumpton, which covers us for the undulations of Market Rasen.
Finally, a mark of 113 is more than fair, and so are these odds.
