ST GALLEN vs SERVETTE – BETTING SERVICE
Servette should be embarrassed by the manner of their recent home draw against Sion! After all, by 33 minutes the Maroons led that match 2-0, and on 41 minutes their opponent had been reduced to ten men!
With that in mind, odds of 1.01 about the Geneva-based outfit looked justified! However, Alain Geiger’s team thought they had done enough, and when Douline put the ball into his own net (85 minutes) rough justice was served. To cut a long story short, the Servette fans were last seen booing their players off the field.
As it stands, with 26 points from 17 games Servette is still third in the table. The visitors haven’t won any of their last five games, and they are just 2-3-3 on the road.
For the record, St Gallen also lost to a team with a man disadvantage. In last week’s match in Zurich, Espen was left playing against ten men from the 17th minute on.
Despite the extra player, their opponent created more chances. In fact, FCZ could easily have scored two or three more goals before getting the winner.
On that note, the winning goal would have disappointed coach Peter Ziedler. While Hornschu got in a weak head, it was one of the St Gallen defenders who put the ball in his own net.
In conclusion, both teams have suffered big disappointments. Nevertheless, St Gallen is much better at home, and they are playing a poor traveler.
