While being drawn in stall one is often an advantage, I believe the opposite is true for I’M MARBLE. The reason is Michael Attwater’s mare is a slow starter and she’s going to need luck in running. One of my other grounds for opposing the mare is she’s not being ridden by her regular jockey!
BLUEBELLE TIME is capable, but she’s not the most prolific of mares. Nevertheless, the 7-year-old ticks the course & distance box, so it will depend on her mood.
As for THEREHEGOES, APACHE STAR, and UNDER CURFEW, all have something to prove. However, if I had to have one of those in the placepot, it would be the latter!
THE COLA KID is the obvious one, and we shouldn’t look any further than the Grace Harris-trained 6-year-old.
Allow me to explain my reasoning. First, the grey is running particularly well, and he did well to finish 3rd from a bad draw at the last meeting here. Secondly, he’s racing from a one-pound lower mark, and he’s actually 2 pounds well in on future ratings. Furthermore, today’s jockey Connor Planas gets to take off two pounds more than the last rider Billy Loughnane.
For the record, if we go back three races, the youngster rode him to win easily at Ffos Las. We could also point to 5 wins from 45 races being good in this grade, and he’s got the perfect sit (stall 6) today.
To cut a long story short, the main danger is securing a clear passage!
