TWO PREMIUM RACING TIPS – GET ON

SEDGEFIELD 2:30 GOLDRAPPER 7/1

Brian Hughes gave RAECIUS FELIX a good ride at Cartmel, but he was still nabbed late on by MAH MATE BOB. While Rebecca Menzies 8 year old is relatively consistent, he doesn’t make a habit out of winning.

In fact, his last victory was in October 2020, and that was 16 races back. For the record, the favourite is set to carry one pound more today and the ground will be faster than ideal.

BOLSOVER BILL is making a quick transition to fences. However, the five-year-old is likely to need easier ground and further than today’s race.

ONENIGHTINTOWN won on his 28th attempt, and for that victory, he’s going up 4 pounds. Whether Becky Smith can get another win out of the 8-year-old remains to be seen, it’s just that I doubt it!

Despite being winless, I want to take a chance on GOLDRAPPER. Henry Hogarth’s gelding ran a much better race at Market Rasen, and on that occasion, Callum Bewley got a good tune out of the 9-year-old.

HAYDOCK 2:10 POLYPHONIC 2/1

COLINTON won 6/19 races, and one of them was over this course and distance. However, the handicapper seems to have caught up with Katie Scott’s gelding. Also, he was a beaten favourite the last twice, and the handicapper took liberty by raising him another pound.

DARK MYSTERY won at the 9th attempt, and a four-pound penalty for 2.5L is fair. Nevertheless, he doesn’t have much scope, and he’s unlikely to get a soft lead in this one!

Both SEA SPEEDWELL and LIVE IS GOLDEN will need to improve on recent efforts.

While I’m reluctant to recommend a favourite, I can’t get past POLYPHONIC. Despite switching to this different type of track, Karl Burke’s 3-year-old shouldn’t be inconvenienced.

In fact, he will get the race run to suit, and he’s 4 pounds well in at the weights. Finally, being gelded helped him improve, and there is more to come today.
