Valerenga started the new season with a (0-1) win over Aalesund. While a draw would have been a fairer result, the Enga defenders were rewarded for holding the line!
However, since then Sarpsborg and Brann beat the team coached by Dag-Eilev Fagermo. And, in those matches, the defense was easily penetrated for 0-2 and 3-1 defeats.
During the season break, Enga traded a number of players. One of them was winger Osame Sahraoui to Heerenveen for €1.6M. The 21-year-old Norway International is clearly being missed, and so is former goalkeeper Kjetil Haug.
For today’s match, Fagermo will have to make do without Christian Borchgrenvink and Omar Bully Drammeh is a doubt!
As for Lillestrom, after losing the season opener to Viking, they have since bounced back to beat Stromsgodset and Molde. While both those matches were played at home, the Canaries were last season’s third-best travelers. Incidentally, they ended that campaign in 4th and with 9 points more than today’s opponent!
The visitors are working with a 22-man squad, and they have a number of doubts. Nevertheless, Martin One Roseth, Elias Solberg, Marius Lundemo, Andreas Vindheim, and Eskil Edh didn’t play in either of those two wins!
For the record, Enga won this fixture last season while Lillestrom won the reverse game. A recent cup win over Bodo/Glimt means the Canaries won their last three matches.
