12:40 MISSED TEE 4/1

CHAPEL GREEN kicked off the season with a victory at Hexham, but a lackluster performance in the subsequent race leaves questions about his form. Despite a three-pound drop by the handicapper, Lucinda Russell’s 6-year-old has a point to prove.

On his first run over fences, UKANTANGO finished a long last at Aintree. While he’s in the right hands, Sean Bowen’s mount is another who needs to prove himself!

JIPCOT ran well on his chase debut and he would have finished 2nd if he hadn’t fallen at the final fence. For the most part, the 4-year-old had jumped well before getting tired.

Ben Pauling’s 4-year-old receives an 8-pound weight-for-age allowance, and he’s entitled to be wiser today. Nevertheless, dropping back in distance will put more pressure on the youngsters jumping!

For me, Sue Smith’s stable has always been an enigma, marked by inconsistency. Based on that theory alone, I wouldn’t want to take 3/1 about CERENDIPITY.

Despite a disappointing chase debut, I want to give another chance to MISSED TEE! The 6-year-old almost certainly needed that run, and I expect to see the benefit today!

While the Skelton-trained mare was a bit disappointing on her chasing debut, she was almost certainly in need of the run. That was also the case last season when she was beaten on her debut at odds of 8/11. Incidentally, the FAME AND GLORY daughter went on to win her next two hurdle races!

Making the switch to the bigger obstacles following just four runs speaks for itself. To cut a long story short, Wetherby and soft ground should suit the 6-year-old best!
