WINNERS EXPECTED – RACING SERVICE
NOTTINGHAM 3:55 QABILAH
Michael Stoute’s front-runner TERA MITICA will be ridden by star jockey Ryan Moore. However, she’s up 6 pounds in the weights, and she won her last race for a 3-pound claimer.
PERSIST is the best-bred filly in the race, but she’s been a beaten favourite on a number of occasions. While I’m reluctant to say this about the 6 times raced FRANKEL filly, she looks exposed!
SHAARA won her last race with a bit to spare, and the 2nd that day won next time out. Based on the evidence at hand, the SHARMADAL filly is in a fair mark. Nevertheless, it’s not easy to give weight away in a small field, and she’s unproven at the distance.
Consequently, we find more value in betting course & distance winner QABILAH. Roger Varian’s charge will be better suited by returning to Nottingham, and she’s got the scope to improve. Lastly, she’s the betting outsider, and receiving weight is a big positive!
NEWBURY 2:35 HODLER
ZULU TRACKER is a CD winner, and he didn’t have any problems following up. Nevertheless, it was a weak race, and he’s been given another 3 pounds by the handicapper.
Saeed bin Suroor is going to try CHIEF OF STAFF at a shorter distance, but I can’t understand why.
For the most part, HODLER has been progressing. The son of SEA THE MOON was a comfortable winner of his last race, and a 4 pounds penalty is fair.
Saffie Osborne is taking over in the saddle, and her 3-pound claim will help. Finally, the track, ground and opposition are all positives.
