Charlie Appleby is running two, and William Buick chose to ride the stables 4 times winner SECRET STATE. At the time of writing, most bookmakers make the son of DUBAWI the favourite. Nevertheless, he only won a handicap, and the assessor rates him (107) joint 4th best.

The stable’s other runner is the James Doyle-ridden WALK OF STARS, and he’s also rated 107. However, he’s less progressive than his stable companion, and based on recent efforts he wouldn’t be the obvious choice.

If we are to believe official ratings, the one to beat is EL BODEGON. The son of KODIAC is rated 113, and he comes into this on the back of an improved run. With that said, he’s mainly been racing in France and there is no parity in the ratings. Furthermore, Hollie Doyle’s mount prefers testing ground, and today’s ‘’Good’’ is likely to count against him.

AIKHAL finished last on his season debut, albeit he was 50/1 for that Group One race. Subsequently, Aiden O’Briens’ gelding landed odds of 20/1 on his way to winning the ARM International stakes at the Curragh. Moreover, he landed that Group 3 by an easy 4.5L, and it could have been more if his jockey had wanted.

While the son of GALILEO must have a chance, it’s just that I prefer DEAUVILLE LEGEND.

Daniel Muscott’s mount has already won a Group 3, and if anything he ran even better next time out. After all, he was only beaten by NEW LONDON in the Gordon Stakes, and on that occasion, he was carrying a 3 pounds penalty.

While the selection will need to settle better, this track should help his rider find a good rhythm. If that is the case, the Gelding will be hard to stop.
